Our New Dog Khloee!

We adopted this dog from Quail Pointe Vet Hospital in March or April this year. She was surrendered to the clinic because her family couldnt take care of her due to financial reasons. She needed to be spayed and have both her knees surgically repaired. So we decided to fix her up and bring her home. She is 4 years old and she is great with my kids. Her name is Khloee.

She loves Ace, and tolerates him holding her all the time.

He loves to lay on my bed with her and watch TV. She doesnt mind as long as she is getting attention.

What a great dog, give her love or food and she is happy.

Khloee is the best little dog we have ever had. We love her so much and we are so thankful she found her way into our lives.

Tman's First Haircut

Over the Easter Holiday we had some sleepover guests: Frank, Kayla and Baby Kendall. Kayla and I decided it would be fun to let the cousins take a bath together....Look how cute they are!

Rusty's "Cars" theme Birthday Party! My little Tman is finally 1 year old (Feb 3, 2010)

He started to get the hang of opening his gifts.....it took a while to open all the presents!

I love Fresh Market, they give you a personalized little cake on their First Birthdays, so they can slobber all over it and they dont have to share!

And I can tell you, I am glad we all didnt have to share that cake after Rusty chose to eat his cake with his hands.....that a boy, get messy!

Thank goodness for the bathtub, what a mess he was....I am so glad he enjoyed it. Love you T man Happy first Birthday

Christmas time this year was so fun, 2 kids to shop for and lots of toys this year!

Shopping Trip to Big R Country Store

I love going shopping at Big R Country Store in Pueblo Colorado, it is such a great store. I dressed Ace up as a cowboy and he insisted on buying that rope! He looks so cute in his cowboy jeans and hat and I almost bought those too.

Airplane Ride to Colorado

This November Matt's family flew us out to see them in Colorado. We love to see them, but usually they are coming to our house. What an adventure!

Rusty's first flight! He slept almost the whole way there until just before we landed, and he slept the entire way home.....how did we get that lucky?

Ace loved it, he has been on a plane a few times before (3 other times) but he loved it more this time I think since he was big enough to sit in his own seat and look out the window.

I dont know how many of you know my mom, but she is the best mom ever! She always wants to hang out and go do fun things like go to Gardner Village, it was so fun. Thanks mom, we all had a blast and the kids passed out on the way home.

Ace loved looking at the different Witches of Garden Village. This is such a cool place, if you haven't been there at Halloween time you should go.

These ones were okay for Ace, he must have felt comfortable they were behind the fence.

There was no way Ace would sit by this witch by himself. The wind was blowing and he kept thinking the spider was real.

Gardner Village Petting Zoo October 2009

Gardner Village is so fun around Halloween time, all the pumpkins and witches.....and this year there was a cute petting zoo. Ace and Rusty loved it, okay so did my mom and I.

Ace loved seeing all the different animals. He calls this one "the big lamb"

Rusty Man even liked the animals, this goat was so friendly, he let Rusty poke him in the eye a few times and he just stood there soaking up the attention.

Air Show 2009

Ace had a blast this year at the Airshow. I remember growing up on all the airforce bases and going to the Airshow every year, it was just something we always did. Then we moved here and we just fell out of the habit of going and now they only have them every 4 or 5 years. So I decided I couldn't pass up this chance to take my little man to the airshow.
He loved sitting in the helicopters and airplanes and pretending to fly them. I knew watching Top Gun as a baby woudl wear off on him!

Carlye and Ace by the Navy plane, we took this picture as a tribute to my brother Mike who is now in the Navy! He went to the airshow with us, it was a great family adventure.

Tonight after getting home from the airshow I put Rusty in his PJ's and then let him bounce around in the jumper as I got everything ready for bed! When I came out into the living room to get him I suddenly remembered he looked just like Ace in a picture I had taken almost 2 1/2 years ago.

This one is Ace about 5 or 6 months old. They look just alike huh? I am so glad I remembered this picture, it is one of my favorites and now I have one of Rusty like this too! Everyone says they look so different, but here I think they kinda look similar.

My little MVP of Baseball!

As most of you know Ace loves Baseball! He can throw a baseball like nobody's business! I love how active he is and how much he loves the same sport his daddy grew up playing. I hope one day Ace can play baseball and love it as much as we love watching him play!

He is now so good at throwing, we have to watch him in the house. He can break stuff now! Guess it wasnt such a good idea to let him play in the house these last 2 years! My bad! Another great parenting skill of mine!

Matt and I are blessed to have such a wonderful baby boy! "Rus baby T" was blessed in the church on Sunday May 10, 2009! Mothers Day!

Rusty Michael Peterson was blessed by Uncle Dan Mitchell. We are so thankful to have Dan in our family and we were honored that he was able to bless our sweet baby boy. Dan made this blessing special alopng with making me cry! Thank you Dan and Lora for being so involved with our kids and loving us all so much.

This is my cute little family! I love my husband, and I love my 2 adorable baby boys who are the best things that have ever come into my life. I wanted to say that we are so very thankful to all of our family who were able to come from everywhere (Colorado, Idaho, Roosevelt) I know that it is hard to travel long distances and its not always fun, actually I know its not fun (thats why I never visit any of you) Not cause I dont love you but because I hate being in the car that long. But thank you for being able to come and spend the weekend with us! We love you and we love you all being involved with every special thing that happens in our family, for example Rusty's baby blessing!

I just wanted to write a thank you to my all my in-laws! I know it has been a while since I have posted a blog, but it has taken me a while to figure out what to say, okay I have also been procrastinating! But I do want to say "Thank you" to my wonderful mother in law for always coming to visit. I cant express how much I appreciate all the time that you spend with us and our kids. I am so glad that Ace and Rusty get to see you often and they love you so much and this is very important to Matt and I. You are always willing to watch the kids while I am working or when I just need a break. I know you were and are a wonderful mother to your kids and you are a wonderful grandmother to Ace and Rusty! Thank you for loving us as much as you do.

And Bart thank you for loaning Carrie to us all those times and for working so hard and then packing up the same night and driving 10 hours to see us and your grandkids. We do appreciate this even though we do not tell you enough. Let me just tell you all how amazing my father in law is! Matt and I have been trying to put our yard in for 2 years and we decided to rent a tiller and start over Easter, well Bart flew out Friday night and Sat morning he was out with Matt getting my yard all done, he rented a trencher and bought pipe for our yard and put all our sprinklers in, then after it rained on them and they were all exhausted they spent Easter Sunday with us and he flew home to Colorado to start a whole new week of work! Thank you for all your help we love you!

I also want to say thank you to Jordan and Caroline who come out all the time and help me with the kids, thanks Jordan for helping with my yard over Easter, we couldnt have done it without you. Dan (my reliable hardworking brother in law) Thank you for always motivating the family and jumping right in to help. Lora is alwasy here to help me with the kids and color my hair (that I appreciate more than anyone knows) Frank and Kayla....always good for a good time, I love hanging out and talking with you guys and I know I can always call you when I need someone to help me with the kids or anything really! Cort you are making us all proud doing God's work in Arica! I love you all so much. I couldnt ask for better in laws you all mean so much to me and it does mean alot that on your vacation here to hang out you always manage to find some work to do around my house for me. You are all the best!

Nothing better than having a great family. Me, Lora and Kayla at our cousins wedding in Beaver this weekend.

These are 2 of my three sister-in-laws. I love them to death, we always have so much fun and laugh the entire time we are together! We played cards games this weekend and spent a lot of quality time together as sisters! It was a blast, Kayla shared an adjoining room with us this weekend and her a Frank were a big help with the kids. Lora is always helping too, but lucky me she was 2 rooms down, so she couldnt bring them back as fast. Just kidding I love my kids, but I love the breaks too!

Beyond the Jelly Beans.......Finding Faith in Christ

I think it is easy to get caught up in the fun exciting part of Easter, hiding the baskets, finding the baskets, finding Easter eggs all over the yard, eating way more candy than any one person should ever eat in a day! While all of these are enjoyable, it is easy to overlook what is "Beyond the Jelly Beans"
This Easter we started the morning off by watching a movie recommended to us by Lora and Dan. Finding Faith in Christ! It was nice to start off our morning remembering Jesus Christ and the sacrafices he made for us. To spend some time together as a family and watching this amazing DVD. (If any of you havent seen this whether you are a church member or not) I do recommend it. It reminded me that this day is not about candy and egg hunts but about someone much larger in life than all of this.....Jesus Christ.
Thank you Lora and Dan for starting this tradition that I believe we should continue every year, and since Lora and Dan will prob come to our house each year it looks like it may be their tradition as well. So thanks again for encouraging us to see "Beyond the Jelly Beans"

Easter Sunday Adventure

Ace found his Easter basket in the front room. It had puzzles and the Stuart Little Collection DVD's, a kite and some dinosaurs and of course some candy, but it also had fruit cups something healthy!

Every year we go to Grandma Scoffields for an Easter eggs hunt and then lunch! We wouldnt miss it for the world, this is the first year Ace really knows what he is doing. I am sure with a few more years under his belt, he will be an amazing egg finder just like his dad!

Ace was getting the hang of looking for the eggs in trees and in the flower beds and all over Grandma Scoffields yard, there are lots of places to hide eggs here!

It was such a beautiful day and there were hundreds of eggs all over the yard, thank goodness they are not all filled with candy, what a sugar high Ace would have. Most of them are filled with nickles and dimes, he found $11.97 to add to his piggy bank.

Ace found so many eggs we had to dump his basket twice into a walmart bag so he could carry his basket around.

Easter at the Wilcox Home

We always go to my moms for Easter. The Easter bunny brought Rusty a cute floor entertainer!

He was sound asleep and couldnt even appreciate it!

My mom and my sister tried to wake him up......But it wasnt working.

Major (my brothers dog) we call him our Nephew tried to wake him up.......still no luck!

So we let him sleep there until he was ready to wake up and play with his Grandma Wilcox!

My dad was outside playing with Ace's Easter surprise. These are cute letters that they can take apart and spell words and Ace loves it and it is a learning toy too!

I couldnt figure out why Ace always had his tools under his race car track in his room. I never saw him playing under there but his tools and toolbox were always there! Why is that? Well one day I caught him playing under there and asked Ace "What are you doing" he replied "Fixing the car" It is then that I realized that all those times that Uncle Dan watches Ace he is doing something mechanical outside. I remember him always working on Loras car last summer, this must be where we gets it. How cute!

He has his hammer and drill and screwdriver under his car table in his room, he throws them under there and then lays on his back and pulls himself under the table, just like you would if you were working on a car!

Baby Rustys First 2 Months Flying By

Baby Rusty is now 2 months old and he just went in for his check up today. Dr. Allred said everything looks great! He is doing all the things he should be doing at his age. He is 13.3# (90th Percentile) he is 23 1/4 inches long (80th Percentile) and his head is only 30th Percentile. But that doesnt mean he wont be a genius, it just means all those shirts that I could never get over Ace's big fat head will fit Rusty! All is well, but he is so tired now he has been sleeping since we got home 4 hours ago. I would to if I had to get 5 shots and 1 oral immunization! At least they combined some of the vaccines and he only had to get 3 injections and 1 oral. He still didnt like it. But he only cried for a minute.

We have been promising Ace we could go feed the ducks for the last few days and since it was such a beautiful day today....we went!
Matt and Ace had fun feeding all these ducks, they were so cute and loud!

Ace was telling them to go in the water his next piece of bread was going in there! He thinks they listen, how funny!

Our New Friends!

Ace was so cute getting all his bread together we have been saving for the ducks. He put it all in a big ziploc bag and off he went to get in the car.

These are our new friends we met at the Clinton Park. It was such a beautiful day, there are tons of ducks over there and it is nice and open. It is a really and relaxing place, we should come here more often.

Matt took Ace down close to the water so Ace could feed the ducks and the geese.

I posted this picture because I think it is cute with Ace and Matt and the ducks and the mountains look great in the background.

An Unfriendly Encounter at the Park!

I am not sure how many of you read my mother im laws blog in addition to my blog, but if you would take a minute and go to her site.... lifeislivedinmoments.blogspot.com and look at the post done on November 25th 2008. My Father in law took Ace to the Layton Park to feed the ducks and they got a little close and grabbed Ace's finger! Ace has still not forgotten. Thats why this video I took today is really funny!

Matt was enjoying tormenting this goose. He was a big goose too as you can see, earlier he was chasing some younger boys around because they got too close. Matt knew Ace was a little afraid of this goose but insisted on teasing both the goose and Ace.....Thats my Peterson Husband, all of you married to a Peterson boy know what I am talking about!

Family Night at the Rock!

Brandon took us Rock Climbling again for the second time. This time we also talked Mike my little brother into going with us. Hopefully next time my husband Matt and my brothers girlfriend Tasha can come, then the whole family will be complete, well at least all of us kids will be together doing something fun as a family!

Brandon wanted to climb the rock and since my sister was helping/belaying me (belaying is what is called when you are hanging on to the rope at the bottom making sure your partner doesnt fall) Mike took a quick lesson from the instructor there so he could belay Brandon. That way we could all four climb at the same time. **Brandon is on the left, the instructor is in the middle and Mike is on the right)

Mike learned really quick how to Belay and soon enough Brandon had climbed right up that wall in no time.....SHOW OFF!

There he is at the top, Mike still at the bottom!

Mike got his turn to climb, he went right up that same part of the rock Brandon had been climbling! I was so mad, but when he moved over to this side he started to struggle and it was harder,then I was satisfied. I am a mean sister!

Where does he go from here??? It is not as easy as it looks, I think he found that out today.

Rock Climbing Attempt #2

I was so excited to go rock climbing again with my sister and Brandon. I wanted to get to the top. There are 2 different walls there at the gym where we climb. This one I am in on was harder than the other one. My goal was to get to the hole up just above my head........

I didnt make it. I was so disappointed. I did get higher than I am in this picture, but I want to get up in that hole so I can take a cute picture! That is my goal for next time.

This is the other wall, the one Mike and Brandon went right up with out even thinking. It was harder for me, but I just kept climbing like my sister says move your feet up high and then stand up and it will just keep pushing you to the top. So I did!

And I made it! All the way to the top. I was so excited, it did not take very long at all to get up there, it actually took longer waiting for my brother to take my picture so I could prove I made it all the way up!

Bobbie climbed the rock again, the hard one! She is a SHOW OFF too! I'll get her next time, my picture will be much cuter in the hole in the rock looking out instead of a picture of my backside!

A night full of Farewells and Tears!

The long awaited finale of ER was on tonight. My sister and I watched the 1 hour tribute and the 2 hour season finale together, since we have been involved in the show for 15 years it was like saying goodbye to all our friends! We were in tears most of the night, Matt of course though this was hilarious that we get that emotional and involved in the shows we watch. This one of course was the ONE show that made its way into our hearts.

Our night was filled with laughter, of funny stories the cast experienced while filming. Memories of all our Drs that have left us in death (Lucy, Mark Green, Pratt, Galant ect...) Happiness of the returning Drs we have not seen, but missed in the last few years (Carrie Weaver, Susan Lewis, Elizabeth Corday, Benton ect..) Carter returned a few episodes ago, but to see him in action as a Dr taking control of the ER and doing what he loved was perfect. Carter brought life to the ER and it is then that I fell in love with the show (and him) and to know he has come back to where it all began for him is incredible. There was excitement of a new Dr. Rachel Green. Although we wont be able to see her in action knowing she was following in her father Mark Green's footsteps brings us peace that the ER is in good hands! And most of all our night was filled with tears, saying good bye to all our friends we have been used to seeing every week. It is the end of something great that can never been replaced, our Thursday nights will never be the same!
It is now that I say GOOD BYE to County Hospital one last time!!!!

Movie Night

Ace loves our dog Ruger, he always wants him to watch DVD's with him but Ruger wont stay in Ace's room so.........
Ace brings the DVD player to the dog, along with a baby blanket to cover them up. Can you see the portable DVD player (which is normally in Ace's room) he brought it out to the living room and set it by the stairs.

Ruger was thrilled, let me tell you.....Ace kept getting mad when he would get up and the blanket would fall off. What a good dog we have! And a cute little boy!

A Rock Climbing Adventure!

My sister and her new husband Brandon (they were married in Sept) are always going rock climbing, they have asked me in the past to go but I always say no. I am a bit of a chicken when it comes to climbing rocks that high, what if I fell! But this time she insisted I go and promised I wouldnt fall, well not far anyway! Her Husband has been doing this for years and we just went up to Weber State they have a gym with a rock wall. It was so much fun, even my neice Carlye does it.

This is me, I only got about 1/3 of the way up the wall. It is so much harder than it looks or sounds. I tired about 4 or 5 times, but I have never done this before. Brandon says this is the part that gets you addicted, you keep wanting to "beat" the wall and I do. I cant wait to go back and try again. I might wait a while though, my arms, shoulders and legs are killing me today! It was so fun, I appreciate my sister Bobbie and Brandon for being patient with me and helping me to enjoy this sport with them. Cant wait to do it again!

This is my sister Bobbie. She got all the way up to the top. It was very high and I know it was prob hard to get all the way up there but she just went right up like it was no big deal. The first few times she only got as high as I did, but I think she just didnt want me to feel bad. Thanks Bob!

A baby shower full of babies!

We celebrated the upcoming addition to our Peterson Family "Claire" on Saturday the 21st. My cousin Julie is having a baby in July. She lives in Texas with her husband and was just in town to visit the family so we arranged to have a baby shower for her before she went home. Julie is expecting a girl, finally after all these boys we have added to our family in the last 6 months. It was great to be able to have all my cousins here with their babies so we could take a pciture.

This is Ace in the bathtub, a place he can stay for over 2 hours somedays. He loves to take a bath! As you can see he has a ton of toys in there, it has gotten worse now he can barely fit in this tub with all of them so we usually let him take a bath in our jetted tub in the master bathroom, its like a mini swimming pool for him. Rusty is now 6 weeks old and seems to be getting bigger everyday, I cant wait until the smiles he does are because he wants to smile and not just gas, like seen in this picture.

Look how peaceful he looks, but not for long Ace was helping me take pictures. So soon after Rusty was awaken by Ace jumping on the bed.

Ace always wants to get involved in everything we are doing with Baby Rusty. He is a good big brother and really does love Rusty.

A Day at the Park

Ace was so excited we went to the park on Weds. He has been dying to go, but I just dont seem motivated to load up both kids and go to the park, today I promised Ace that we could go and just then one of my best friends Angela called and wanted to go to the park.....sometimes I swear she reads my mind. So we went and it was very relaxing, much to my surprise.

Ace was very nervous to go down the tunnel slide, I made Angela push him down, he kept backing out. I was at the bottom waiting for him, once he did it, he LOVED it. We took him down each one of the slides at the West Point Park, they are kinda big (well not this one) but the other ones are and he was very intimidated. After that he was up and down all by himself.

This is the only slide he went down on his own the first time around, the little kid slide. But he didnt like this one as much once he went down the bigger, faster slides.

Pinocchio Movie Review

As you all know I am a MAJOR movie collector! I love Tuesdays thats when all the new movies come out. last week on the 10th Pinocchio came out of the Walt Disney Vault! I was super excited, I love Disney movies and I am proud to say my adorable 2 year old Ace loves them too.
Well right after we bought the movie Ace and I rushed home to watch it, Ace had never seen this movie before since we did not previously own it and it has been in the Disney Vault for years. I was taking care of baby Rusty in the living room and I could hear Ace crying, I went into my bedroom (where Ace watches all his "shows" or movies) and he was face down on my bed crying when I asked him what was wrong he pointed at the TV it was at the part in Pinocchio when the little boy turns into a donkey! Ace was very upset! I had forgotten that there are parts in this show that may be a little scary to kids his age. Well once we discussed that this was a movie and that real little boys dont turn into donkeys he was just fine and has since watched this show about 20 times! He loves to name all the characters and the funniest one is when he tries to say Jiminy Cricket and it comes out "Jiminy Chicken" I laughed for hours. I decided to post Ace's funny sayings in a column off the right of my blog.....check them out! But As for the review I would have to say and I am sure Ace would agree with me....
*Walt Disney does it again! A wonderful show, a must see over and over and over again!
*May not be intended for small children who are afraid of being turned into a donkey!
*On sale for a wonderful bargain price at Walmart for $16.99 (the new release price) but worth every penny!

My sister always has a St. Patricks Day party! We all look forward to it each year. I brought Rusty this year, and dressed him in green! This is my mother, my twin sister Bobbie, Me and Rusty, Carlye (my neice she is 8) and my dad in the back! We missed Matt, Ace and my brother Mike at the party, maybe next year!

This is one of our best friends Ashlee with my sister and I. Ashlee went to elementary school with us (that was ages ago) she was the very first friend I had when we moved here 20 years ago. What a great girl, she is hilarious. It is never a good party without Ashlee.

All week long it has been nice outside, Ace was able to play on the deck in his sandbox! He loved it. But when we woke up this morning and there was snow everywhere, I figured it was another boring day inside watching movies....Ace had other plans!

He came out into the living room with his jacket on and he had put his hat and gloves on the best he could. I asked him where he was going all dressed up like that, he said "Outside to play in my sandbox" (like I was an idiot and should have known)

A little snow never stopped Ace from playing with what he wants to play with. Look at his cute smile, he stayed out there forever only coming in to change his gloves when they had too much snow on them. It is nice that he is satisfied playing on the deck since we dont have a yard yet and I am able to see him from the kitchen and living room and can keep an eye on him all the time, I am a paranoid parent about him being outside alone.

I just thought this picture was so cute I had to post it! Rusty was up for a while this morning, he is not acustomed to our routine of sleeping in until 11:00! Ace is a pro at it. But after we all got up and got dressed for the day Rusty decided it was time for his nap. He loves his swing, which is good cause I can buckle him in and Ace cant get him out. Ace loves to go get Rusty where every I put him, even in his crib and bring him to me. But in the swing he cant get him out! It also makes me happy that the swing finally came in handy since when we got it for Ace, he hated it and only sat in it twice! Rusty is in it all the time, he loves taking his naps in there. (Dont worry I do not leave him in there all day long, he also takes naps in the bassinet and the glider and also on the couch on his Lion blanket)

This morning Rusty was screaming, he was starving! I could not make his bottle and get it to him fast enough. Ace went over and got his own burp rag and said " I feed baby his milk!" Ace has been very demanding lately. But I thought it was so cute I let him help.

Ace calls Rusty his "Rus baby T" (he tries to say baby Rusty but it comes out all scrambled up) He wanted to get in Rusty's crib today and lay with him while they watch to aquarium that is in the crib.

He always wants to hold the baby today after I made Ace get out of Rusty's crib, I went to get the diaper bag which was in my room across the hall, I turned around and Ace had climbed back into the crib and was holding Rusty saying "here mommy" he was hanging Rusty over the side of the crib (trying to pass him to me) It was really scary, but funny at the same time. Don't worry he didn't drop him, he held onto him tight while I ran in there and took Rusty from Ace.

He loves giving kisses to everyone, including his baby brother. He has to give him a million kisses everyday, what a sweet boy!

Rusty always sleeps so peaceful, oh how it would be to sleep so soundly without a care in the world. He loves this blanket my aunt Julie made for Ace. It is very thick and comfy. We take it everywhere so when he sleeps he is always comfortable.

Rusty can always find somewhere to sleep if he isn't on his blanket. He has chosen Matts chest this time to fall asleep on. Matt couldn't get up, the chair was reclined and he was trying to not wake up the baby...it was hilarious!

Tubby Time

It was time for Baby Rusty's First tub time. We have been giving him washcloth baths since he came home until his umbilical cord fell off, then they said we can give him a real bath. Ace helped, he was in the jetted tub while I was washing Rusty in the baby tub on the floor and Ace filled one of his cups with ice cold water and before I new it was dumping it on Rusty's face! Rusty of course was in shock for a second, but quickly recovered, I am sure that won't be the last time Ace torments his brother!

Ace loves Rusty. He always wants to help feed him and hold him and help "change his bum" He is a good big brother. The first day we brought Rusty home Ace asked if Rusty could take a bath with him I said no he can't he is too little, then he said "Oh, can he play in my room with me?" I said no Ace he can't walk around yet. Ace was really disappointed. He can't wait to play with him.

We had a hard time picking out his outfit, this is the one we ended up choosing. All the nurses thought he looked so cute. Rusty was able to come home Thursday night February 12th at 8:00pm. We went up to the hospital and they had us watch a CPR for infants video, I think this is a great idea, all parents should watch this. Then we were able to dress him for the first time and take him home! It was very exciting.

This is the car seat we used for Ace when he was a baby. He came home from Ogden Regional in this one too. Rusty looks so small in here, we had to tighten the straps a lot! Isn't he so cute?

Today I went up to the hospital about 1 and was able to feed and hold Rusty again! He gets cuter every day and he looks so good today. The doctor said his infection is cleared and the inflammation in his lungs is going down. He is off his antibiotics now and they are slowly taking him off the oxygen. Hopefully he just needs a few more day to regulate his breathing and he can come home! We are expecting Tuesday but that is not set in stone. They might need to send him home on oxygen, and that is okay I am sure we can handle it, but we hope he gets everything worked out up there at NICU just so we know he is okay. Can't wait for everyone to see him.

Today Sat 2*7*09 Matt and I went up around 1 to see Rusty, Matt was so excited to see him today and as soon as he went in the nurse let him feed and change Rusty! Matt did a wonderful job! Rusty is eating well and he had his eyes opened a lot today. I went back up about 6 and fed him again and changed him, boy can he eat! He can also fart and burp loud too! Before we left he wanted to eat again and needed another diaper change....at least we know all the plumbing is working well! haha. The doctors took an xray last night at midnight and said that they were concerned that his hard breathing was indicating pneumonia. But he is okay, he juist needs a little more time to recover from his infection. He is eating well and his oxygen is still going, so are his antibiotics but his IV fluids are still off and he seems to improve each day! They have not given an expected go home date, but we will keep you posted we want him all better before we bring our cute little guy home.

Rusty is doing really well today 2*6*09. He has graduated to a crib ( I call it a large tupperware container) He is off his IV fluids, still on a little oxygen and antibiotics. They said he is doing better, not yet were they can take him off the antibiotics. He is breathing well and I was able to feed him today and hold him again. He is soooo cute!

Rusty was born 2 weeks early, he was having a little bit of trouble moving his oxygen through his body. He went over to the NICU about 30 min after he was born and there he will stay until he is ready to come home. They waited until Thursady afternoon about 3pm to feed him since he does have some sort of infection going on. They have him on oxygen but continue to decrease that as he improves. We are not sure how long he will have to stay, but we will know more after the lab work tomorrow. All the nurses say he is a big baby, they are used to 4 pound babies over there! They say he is not too critical and they expect him to be moved from the incubator to a crib in the next few days and then hopefully he will be able to come home next week sometime! We can't wait for him to come home, it is so hard being home without him. I forgot how fast you fall in love with your baby! We love you Rusty and can't wait till you come home.

Baby Rusty was born 2 weeks early, to my surprise on Tuesday February 3rd @11:30pm. He was 6 lbs. 15 ounces (he would have been 7 pounds but he had to pee on everything before they weighed him) he is 19 3/4 inches long.This picture was taken only minutes after he was born.

This is Rusty over in NICU, resting comfortable now that he can breath a little easier.

Rusty is still doing well and continues to improve everyday, we can't wait to take him home.

I changed him for the first time Weds afternoon, and watched them feed him for the first time Thurs afternoon.

Hopefully he will come home next week. Isn't he sooooooo cute! Look at his dark hair.

We had to get a tree for this Christmas so we went to Robinson tree farm again in Layton. Ace found us a really good one.

He loved the train set we put up around our fake christmas tree in the front room. Yes we do have 2 trees, the fake one stays lit up a lot longer, if I left the real one up that long with that may lights it would die.

Ace went to Yellowstone this year for my sister's wedding. We have never been there so it was like another vacation for us. We were able to get really close to all the wild animals. Across this little river is a big elk taking an afternoon nap.

Polar Bear! Stake Camp 2008

Every year we camp at Lyman Lake over UEA or Labor Day! All the kids jump into Lyman Lake and it is freezing cold. Ace was waiting for his turn.

This is his first Polar Bear experience! I know he doesn't look happy, but that is prob cause once he got in he realized it was really cold.

But we warmed him up fast! What a brave little guy!

Ace turned 2 years old on August 24 2008! He loves golf, Matt decided he was ready for his own golf clubs. He is actually really good....we will have to take him out the golf course!

Ace opened up some drums he got as a gift from his babysitter! I guess she thinks he should torture me with his loud music skillls like his does at her house! Thanks Laura!

Ace loves big trucks. He was thrilled to get trucks too.... What a spoiled little boy, who thought a 2 year old had that many friends! But I don't know who doesn't love Ace after they meet him.

He also loves Hockey!!!! That's my boy... I love hockey, I hope one day he wants to play hockey in school !

Visiting Family Day 6 of our vacation

My cousin Guy is a Navy Seal an is stationed in Cornado California, which lucky for us is close to where we were staying. Him and his wife Heather just purchased a little boat which they keep just out their back porch and they insisted we all go for a ride. As everyone knows I don't do boats! But I figured if we wrecked he could swim back with Ace and nothing bad would happen, he is trained for that right? Well Ace loved it and we all got back safely, what a chicken I am.

San Diego Zoo Day 5 of our vacation

San Diego Zoo, what a huge place full of animals. Including this animal ACE!!!!

You can even ride the giant rhino. Ace did enjoy this trip, he loves all kinds of animals. This is where he bought his Giraffe or his "Raff Raff" that he can't leave home without.

He was so independant, wanting to walk through the whole place. He loved it.

California Adventure Day 4 of our vacation

At California Adventure we went to see Bug Land, this statue was awesome. This is my Mom holding Ace and my twin sisters daughter Carlye.

Ace couldn't get enough of the giant grasshopper, or whatever it was. I hate grasshoppers!!!!

My sister and I took the kids on this ride were you pick some sort of old container like something a bug would choose to get into, we chose the cookie box and the bugs lift it up and it turns around, Ace actually really liked it. I think he really enjoyed California Adventure.

Sea World Day 3 of our vacation

Matt and Brandon picked where we sat at the Sea World Dolphin show! Bad idea! They picked the front row and we all got soaked! We had to change clothes, except I only packed a change of clothes for Ace....didn't think I was gonna wet my pants. We all had to buy new pants at the stores at Sea World. It was really fun though and Ace loved it.

We had lunch with Shamu, although I think this was Shamu's friend, either way Ace thought it was really cool. We got to get up close and everything. He was huge!

Ace loves bears and this polar bear kept coming really close to the glass to see Ace and then he would dive down and catch some fish. Ace loved this too.

Ace is very strong, but even he could not pull the sword from the stone!

Ace may not love all the people dressed up as animals and characters, but he loved the real animals in the petting zoo. This goat was very cute and affectionate.

Ace thought he could lift the bar bell at toon town, look he bent the bar in half.....told you he was strong.

My sister and Carlye took Ace to see Minnie Mouse. This is one of the only characters Ace didnt cry at. Guess he thinks she is cute and look how happy she always is.

Daddy took Ace to see Goofy and Pluto (Matt's favorite characters) Ace was a little nervous but doing better.

We went in March so the lines were not long, Matt and I thought Ace should have a signature book and have all the characters sign it and we can take his picture with each one. This is us in line.

Santa brought Ace a lot of new toys for Christmas this year. I think he loved the basketball hoop.

Santa Claus sure did spoil Ace this year.... Where are we going to put all those toys?

Aunt Bobbie was showing Ace the Christmas Tree at Grandma's house. He loves it, my mother always has a wonderful Christmas Tree that takes about a week to set up, it has lots of fun moving ornaments on it. Ace loves playing with all of them.

We always go to Robinson's Tree Farm in Layton to find the perfect Christmas Tree! This year Ace helped us pick out the best one. It was really cold, but Ace put on his snow suit and kept on looking like a really trooper!

Thanksgiving 2007

We all went out to Bart and Carrie's place in November 2007 for Thanksgiving. We flew, there was no driving 10 hours in the car out there, we are not crazy! Ace enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner and spent most of it on Jordan's lap.

Ace was a pirate for Halloween this year, he couldn't decide what weapon to use the gun or the sword! So he took them both!

Ace loves hanging out with his daddy and even though they were in the garage working on the boat you can tell by this picture that Ace knows to look to the sky for the geese! Ace was babysitting the puppy and practicing aiming for the geese and ducks. A hunter in training.

Stake Camp 2007

Me, Matt and Ace and Stake Camp 2007. We always go up to Lyman Lake every fall to spend time with the rest of the Peterson Family. Ace loves being able to go fishing and spend time with everybody! Its nice to get away from home and spend time with our family.

Baby Ace 2007

Ace and I had a blast fishing at Lake Lyman. It was a little windy this day, but still fun.

I love this picture. My 2 favorite people in the whole world. I love what a great dad Matt is and that he wants to share all the things he loves with Ace and I. I am excited for Ace to get older each year and know that he will always be able to spend time camping and fishing with his daddy!

Even though as received a lot of wonderful gifts from his family and friends, the one thing he absolutely loved were the Balloons!

Ace's birthday was themed around work trucks.

He loved the frosting, what was I thinking getting him an orange cake? Talk about stains on that cute shirt of his!

But after seeing how much he enjoyed the cake, it was worth all the stains in the world. Anything to make my cute baby boy happy on his first birthday! Happy Birthday Ace you are 1 year old today. August 24, 2007!

Ace opened his first vehicle! His power wheel four wheeler. He loved this thing and rode it into all the walls in the house. He would get so frustrated because he did not know how to turn it, he would just get off and pull it backwards and then ride it forward into another wall.

Ace is such a blessing. He is the best kid in the whole world and what I love the most is that he is a snuggling freak. He loves to cuddle and snuggle with his mommy. Ace and I take naps every day that we are home together in the afternoon. Matt teases us and tells us we are lazy, and maybe we are but there is nothing I love more than spending time holding my cute baby boy while he sleeps in my arms. He is the cutest baby ever!
